Should i become an air traffic controller?

i have been seriously thinking about doing this. I have all of my general ed credits taken care of, so all i would need to take would be the atc classes at a certified school. I have heard they make around $80,000-$100,000 (not starting of course) but it just seems to good to be true for only two years of schooling. What is the catch? Why does it pay so well? Is the job market crazy competitive or something?I have actually heard that a large % of current ATC are about to retire here in the next 4-8 years. Can any ATC tell me the downsides of your job?
